500T is a tungsten-balanced colour motion-picture film rated at ISO 500, now manufactured on Kodak’s updated AHU (Anti-Halation Undercoat) base. This newer generation retains the classic cinematic character of 500T while offering improved consistency, cleaner highlights, and controlled halation — especially noticeable around bright light sources.
Designed originally for professional motion-picture production, 500T delivers rich colour reproduction, fine grain, and wide exposure latitude when used for still photography. It produces smooth tonal transitions with subtle contrast, making it equally suited for experienced photographers and those exploring cine film for the first time. The film responds well to push or pull processing, allowing flexibility across lighting conditions.
Optimised for tungsten light, 500T performs exceptionally well indoors, under artificial lighting, in mixed-light environments, and during overcast or evening shoots. Skin tones remain natural and colour separation stays balanced, making it a strong choice for portraits, street photography, and cinematic, low-light scenes.
What is CineFilm?
CineFilm refers to 35mm motion-picture stock historically used across film industries worldwide before the digital shift. In recent years, still photographers have embraced these films for their cinematic rendering, highlight roll-off, and exposure latitude.
This film includes a Remjet backing — a carbon-based protective layer that reduces halation, static, and scratches during high-speed motion-picture transport. For best results, it should be processed in ECN-2 chemistry with proper Remjet removal. It can also be developed in C-41 chemistry with a recommended 1-stop push (expose at ISO 800).

What is Respooling?
Respooling involves purchasing motion-picture film in bulk lengths and carefully hand-loading it into repurposed metal 35mm cartridges. This process is carried out in a light-controlled setup using specialised equipment, delivering results comparable to factory-sealed film (unless otherwise stated for expired or experimental stocks)
