The Nikon FM2 was released in 1982 and officially discontinued in 2001. Manufactured by Nippon Kogaku K. K. (now Nikon Corporation), the FM2 is a part of Nikon's legendary line of compact, mechanical SLR cameras. Built with the same durable copper-aluminum-silicon alloy as the earlier FM and FE models, it offers unmatched reliability and performance. 

This camera ships with the Nikkor 50mm f1.8 lens. The FM2 features the classic Nikon F-mount, which is compatible with all AI, AI-S, and AF Type D lenses from Nikon, as well as a wide range of third-party lens options. The camera is best suited for use with manual focus lenses, providing an authentic and rewarding shooting experience.

The Nikon FM2 takes 35mm (135) film and shoots in the standard 36mm x 24mm format. It features an easy-to-use film loading mechanism that’s perfect for quick, on-the-go shooting.

SLR cameras sold by CPB Darkroom are film-tested for shutter function and light leaks. This camera is certified to be in full working condition. The FM2 is fully mechanical and can function without batteries, except for the inbuilt light meter, which requires 2 x LR44 batteries (included).

This particular camera has been inspected by the CPB Darkroom team and is rated 9/10 for condition. The body is in great shape, with only minor signs of use. The paint has worn off the nameplate, and the rewind knob has been replaced, but both are purely cosmetic and do not affect performance. The lens is clean and sharp, and the viewfinder is bright and clear—a true joy to shoot with. This FM2 is a solid, reliable classic that blends function with vintage character, perfect for both serious shooters and collectors.
