Background

The Olympus Trip 35, introduced in 1967, is one of the most iconic compact cameras ever made. Designed for simplicity and portability, it was marketed as the perfect travel companion—hence the name “Trip.” With its sharp Zuiko 40mm f/2.8 lens and selenium cell-powered light meter, it requires no batteries, making it reliable even decades later.

Lens Compatibility & Format

The Trip 35 has a fixed 40mm f/2.8 Zuiko lens, known for excellent sharpness and color rendition. It uses standard 35mm film (color or black & white, 24 or 36 exposures). The zone-focusing system makes it beginner-friendly, while still allowing skilled photographers to achieve precise results.
